Beginners Chair

Beginner Chair Requirements

1 year service commitment

5 year sobriety requirement

Previous 6-12 month service commitment

Minimum requirements:

  • Two years of continuous sobriety

  • Active IBF Member

  • Willing to serve for 24 months

  • Trustworthy and honest

  • Elected, non-paid position and must have the approval of the Group Conscious of the IBF

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit Members (1 Male and 1 Female) to host Beginner’s Meetings and post on Participation List.

  • Find replacement or be willing to host meeting when there is a No-Show or Cancellation.

  • Coordinate with Literature Chairperson to ensure all AA approved literature is available for weekly Beginner’s Meetings.

  • Attend monthly IBF Business Meetings - 1st Monday of each month @ 6:45 pm

Treasurer

Treasurer Requirements

1 year service commitment

5 year sobriety requirement

Previous 6-12 month service commitment

Minimum requirements:

  • Five year of continuous sobriety

  • Active IBF Member

  • Previous 6-12 month Service Commitment

  • Willing to serve for a minimum of 12 months

  • Trustworthy and honest

  • Elected, non-paid position and must have the approval of the Group Conscious of the IBF

Responsibilities:

  • Receive all monies donated in whatever manner to the Group Center and deposit in IBF’s bank account in a timely manner. (Monies collected include but are not limited to: 7th Tradition, coffee bar, coke machine, donation for special events, repairs, etc.)

  • Maintain simple, accurate records of income and expenses as well as a bank account where appropriate according to group conscience.

  • Reconcile checking account on a monthly basis.

  • Maintain a prudent reserve equivalent to six months' of the group expenses - Subject to group conscience.

  • Disburse group funds in excess of a prudent reserve to A.A. service entities - Subject to group conscience.

  • Disburse payments for monthly expenses (i.e. rent, PG&E, Telephone, Literature purchases from Central Office, Day Time Bartenders, etc.) on time.

  • Issue monthly check to Supply Chairperson for the approved group conscience amount no later than 5th of each month.

  • Report the group's financial condition in writing at the Monthly Business meetings. 1st Monday of each month @ 6:45 pm (except if it falls on a holiday then it is the following Monday.)

  • Post monthly financial report on IBF Information Board.
