The software is intended to be used with Mac OS X. To display a monitor that is connected to the i1 through a dock to USB converter, use the following steps: Copy the home/directory/icolordisk.img.gz file to the desktop if you have it unpacked. You'd find it in the home/icolordisk directory. Install the software on your Mac OS X desktop. The executable file icolordisk should automatically launch. Restart the Mac OS X Dock application. You should now see the i1 icon. Connect the i1 to the Mac OS X desktop if necessary. A list of the i1 displays will be available. Select the i1 listing that you wish to use and click on the i1 icon on the desktop. The dock icon should now change icons and the i1 software should load. If your i1 display is integrated into a graphics adapter, the i1 software will now attempt to start a demo to test the communication between it and the display.--This depends on your Mac OS X display driver. If you get an error message about an unsupported connection mode, that is probably your problem. It is also possible to configure the video settings within the i1 software itself (see the "Software Configuration" section below to change settings such as SDI sample rates, gamma settings, bandwidth, etc.).
SpectraView OS X will automatically launch and start a SpectraView OS X Monitor if a SpectraView monitor is connected. Just run the icolordisk executable on your desktop if you have it unpacked. Don't restart your Mac OS X Dock application, however.
If you view your i1 display through and i1 DisplayPro Monitor Device, the i1 software will automatically start a SpectraView OS X Monitor program if it is installed on your desktop. If you want to launch the software manually, you can run the icolordisk executable from your desktop--but don't restart your Mac OS X Dock application.
Some calibration tools, such as i1Calibrator, ARgyllCMS, SpectraViewPro, and Xrite Calibrator Pro are not compatible with the Spectrum 2 hardware. You will also not be able to calibrate sensors, units, and waveforms. d2c66b5586
