As far as his own fashion taste goes, Rutherford has been praised many times over for his sense of style. He admits to frequently stealing clothes from his girlfriend, and walks the line between masculine and feminine in a number of his looks, donning anything from a pastel yellow tea dress to tattoo-revealing white tanks and tight pants.
Located near Trempealeau in southwestern Wisconsin, this 1,270-acre park sits on 500-foot bluffs overlooking the confluence of the Trempealeau and Mississippi Rivers. It's an area known for its breathtaking views and diverse native wildlife, and also has a reputation as a wonderful RV camping destination.
With a 102-site family campground set in peaceful wooded surroundings, Perrot State Park has everything you need for a memorable vacation in the great outdoors. Keep reading to find out how to plan your perfect stay.
There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy in Perrot State Park that it's hard to know where to start. However, as is often the case, the best way to experience the surrounding terrain is to lace up your walking shoes and take a hike.
If you're planning a Perrot State Park camping adventure in winter, you might want to take advantage of the nine miles of groomed trails for cross-country skiing. The two-mile Bay Trail actually passes through the campground and is an easy loop, while advanced skiers will be happier tackling the Prairie and Cedar Glade Trails.
If you'd rather get around on two wheels, it's well worth mentioning that you can access the Great River State Trail from the campground. This 24-mile trail is built on an abandoned railway line and leads you through some of the best scenery of the upper Mississippi River valley, so it's definitely worth bringing your bike along.
Finally, most of the other activity in Perrot State Park centers on the river. Boating is a hugely popular pastime in the park, and a boat landing area on the Trempealeau River provides easy access to Trempealeau Bay as well as the Mississippi River. Canoes and kayaks are also available for rent from the park office, and energetic campers can paddle their way around the Voyageurs Canoe Trail, which winds for just under three and a half miles. It's a relaxing way to experience the beautiful waterways for which this part of Wisconsin is most famous.
With 102 sites in total, the campground has plenty of room for you to park your motorhome rental for a while. Heavily wooded, the campground provides plenty of shade during the summer heat, and some sites even offer lovely water views. Finally, four walk-in group campsites are also provided.
Hot showers, flush toilets, and an RV dump station are all provided in season. There's also a canoe launching area near the campground's southwestern corner, while the Perrot State Park Nature Center is located nearby.
If you want to visit with your dog, you'll be happy to hear that pets are permitted in the campground. However, you'll need to clean up after your furry friend whenever necessary and keep them on a leash at all times.
Perrot State Park isn't the only attraction worth exploring in this beautiful region of the United States. There are several other great destinations nearby, so why not stop off to experience the best they have to offer?
And even better than that? Free shuttles run regularly from the RV park to the hotel so RV guests can use the facilities as much as they like. The hotel also has restaurants overlooking the Colorado River and serving French, Italian and steakhouse cuisine.
You can go boating, jetskiing and fishing on the Colorado River, or take an 80-minute river tour on the resort's own USS Riverside to learn about the history of the region and the Colorado River. Narrated cruises depart seven days a week, four times a day, with two extra evening cruises on Saturdays.
The resort of Laughlin has been a popular tourist destination for casinos, restaurants and outdoor activities for decades, in a coastal spot where Nevada, California and Arizona meet. For an outdoorsy pursuit within easy reach of Don Laughlin, drive to the Newberry Mountains about 55 minutes away to access its hiking routes, including the Spirit Peak Trail up Spirit Peak, the Newberry Mountains' highest mountain.
Through ads, job fairs, and virtual hiring events, the company targeted handymen and construction workers. By the end of December, they had 40 new hires ready to start Level 1 certification training.
Marshall admits that, initially, there was no playbook for implementing the fully remote program and the technology was a bit clunky. Many internal meetings were held until Brooks landed on Microsoft Teams as the platform for conducting the online courses, which he believes has facilitated great discussions and comments during the training and has helped Campers Inn to become more efficient as a company.
It was determined that both the new and existing techs enrolled in the Level I certification program would take four hours of classes per week for eight weeks and be paid for the time spent in training. This turned out to be a both a good recruiting and retention tool.
In the afternoon, Marshall spends time answering calls and emails from students, whom he encourages to contact him. He has also started to visit dealerships to provide some hands-on training, in addition to observing each facility, its tools and equipment, and to talking to the techs.
So far, Campers Inn has provided Level 1 training for Over 100 employees, 40 of whom have become certified. Many of the others are still in the testing process. There are also currently 40 students participating in Level 2 certification training, 100% of whom Marshall expects to pass. This program requires six hours of training per week for 16 weeks. Some of the students are veteran techs who had never become certified but who now comment on how much easier their jobs are after learning to become more efficient.
